Trivial Pursuit World of Warcraft Edition Review – For Lore Experts Only?
I’ve enjoyed many a good game of Trivial Pursuit when the first edition came out 25 years or so ago… So when I discovered that there now is a World of Warcraft edition, it immediately grabbed my attention.

If you’ve heard about it, you’ve probably asked yourself some questions about the quality of the game, and how much fun it is. Stuff like that. So I did some research and discovered some interesting facts.
Six Categories – Just Like the Original Game
The World of Warcraft edition covers six categories, just like the original game, and these are: Geography (Locations), Player Characters, Lore, Loot (Items), Enemies, Encounters.
You get a “cheese” to put in your “cheese holder,” just like you did in the old game.
Small Size – Good or Bad?
There are several things that buyers of this World of Warcraft edition of Trivial Pursuit all talk about, and one of them is the size of the game.
One customer described it as the size of a hand. Another one mentioned half the size of the original Trivial Pursuit.
Now, is that good or bad?
Well, the text is still readable, and although you cannot use your “cheese holders” as movers, there’s a cute solution to that problem.
The game comes with plastic baby murloc movers which are very cute. They are just getting out of the eggs…
If you don’t happen to live in a big family who all plays WoW, you might want to bring the game with you, and that’s much easier with a small and handy game than with the original size game.
Also for car travels this game has a perfect size.
How Many Questions?
This WoW edition contains 600 questions, and if you compare them to the other versions of Trivial Pursuit, it’s not a lot. The original one had 6000 questions.
So you shouldn’t expect nearly as many cards as you get with the original version.
On the other hand, you might have some funny or interesting conversations around each question, as you relive the lore in WoW, or discuss the answers.
Difficulty – Do You Have to Be a Lore Expert?
According to customers who’ve played this game, then you don’t have to be a lore expert. You don’t have to have read the books or played the game since Vanilla.
If you’ve played for even a short while, you will be able to answer a lot of the questions. But even hard-core lore players have reported that they loved the questions. So there seems to be something for everybody in here.
Almost No Card Holder
One minus I’ve seen several people mention is the lack of a real card holder. After you’ve played the game and opened the card set for the first time, you’re stuck with no real card holder. I suggest you wrap a rubber band around the cards to keep them together. But it would be nice if future supplemental cards came with a good holder.
The World of Warcraft Trivial Pursuit board game measures 6 x 6 x 3 inches.
1 box to keep the game in.
100 question cards with 600 questions.
6 “cheeses” and “cheese holders”
6 Murloc movers
What’s Good About This Game
It’s fun, and it’s a new way to share your love for World of Warcraft with your friends and family.
It contains beautiful illustrations and the murlocs are just too cute.
This will make a great gift or hours of entertainment – and you can even use it when World of Warcraft is down or refuse to let you log in 😉
What’s Not So Good About It
Well, you should be aware of the small size and the smaller number of questions. If you can live with that, and if you’re a real WoW fan, then you should get it.
What Do Customers Say?
The average customer finds this game really good, and he likes it. Several even loved it. And then a few hated it, because of the small size.
You should check to see here, what the lowest price is.
When I visited Amazon to buy the game, the price was quite fair, I think, and I didn’t see customers complain about it either.
If you love World of Warcraft, and if you find the lore interesting and can live with a smaller game size, then I’m convinced you’ll like this Trivial Pursuit World of Warcraft Edition.
While I was researching this game, I found several for sale on Amazon, but this one is sold by Amazon themselves, and it was way cheaper than some of the other copies. You can find it here.
